Ukemi Course by Andy McLean Woodlands Park Village Centre, White Waltham, Maidenhead This course is particularly useful to those who need to improve or to teach, ukemi technique. He will be teaching not just the basic ukemis, but also "teddy bear" and koshinage! His technique to improve confidence to not only survive but enjoy being thrown from koshinage is particularly relevent to instructors! Aikido Circle's Open Seminar/Day Course Sensei Paul Barker Bexhill Amateur Athletic Club (Bexhill AA Judo Club), Little Common Road, Bexhill-On-Sea, East Sussex, TN39 4HU The seminar will focus on weapons and the body relationship in terms of how Aikido techniques are integrated with the Sword and Jo. Guest Instructors: Dang Phong Sensei, Gwynne Jones Sensei The organisers of this event are pleased to announce the inclusion to the teaching line-up of Sensei Phong 6th Dan Aikikai. 5th Dan Judo. 6th Dan Taekwondo. 8th Dan Hai Bai Duong. Sensei Phong is the Principal of the Westminster Aikikai. California. USA. Sensei Phong Studied at the Aikikai. In 1968 he personally received the credentials from O-Sensei Morihei Ueshiba that authorised Sensei Phong to organise and expand Aikido in the entire land of Vietnam. He was promoted to 6th Dan in 1997 by the then Doshu Kisshomaru Ueshiba. Please visit the Ten Shin Kai website to read the incredible biography of Sensei Phong. This event is sponsored by the Shin-Gi-Tai Aikido Society and jointly promoted by the Shin-Gi-Tai and the Ellis Schools of Traditional Aikido. Shihan Kobayashi Course - this will be the first time Yasuo Kobayashi Sensei has taught in the UK and a chance to practice with one of the few remaining “3rd generation” (1946 - 1955) students of O’Sensei. Urban Aldenklint 6th Dan Aikikai to teach one practice on the Saturday and Sunday. Urban is a student of Kobayashi sensei and also trained extensively with Igarashi sensei and other senior Japanese shihan. The course will cover all aspects of Aikido including Bokken and Jo waza. University of Bath, New Village Site, Claverton Down, BATH, BA2 7AY Costs: £15 for Thursday, £15 for Friday, £35 for 1 day (Sat or Sun), £60 for Saturday & Sunday, £75 for all 4 days.
